All children will enjoy becoming part of a tribe for the day, learning about stories from our ancestors, and artefacts that have been used for thousands of years. 

Goombuckar Indigenous Cultural Bus Program

    Early Learning CAT
  • includes two rotations of 35-minute classes/lessons
    • one cultural lesson inside the bus for 35 minutes learning about our culture in a fun and interactive way
    • one art lesson outside the bus, and the children get to take their special piece of artwork home with them!
  • minimum 50 children participating (broken into groups of 25)
  • two facilitators
  • total duration of workshop = 1 hour 10 minutes per participant

Total Cost = $10.00 per child (including GST)

Lessons include:

  • storytelling of one of the following:
    • Goombuckar & Bubberlacom
    • Maroochy story
    • Glasshouse
  • ochre face/body painting
  • artefacts
  • didgeridoo playing or learn a traditional song
  • make a carded “Boomerang”

Please note:
Additional charges will apply for travel outside of the Sunshine Coast. 
Didgeridoo playing can only be performed by a male facilitator. Games will be played where there is no male facilitator.

 

First Steps with First Nation Workshop

  • includes up to three rotations of 35-minute classes/lessons
  • maximum of 25 children per class
  • one facilitator
  • total duration of workshop = 1 hour 45 minutes

Total Cost = $330.00 (including GST)

Lessons include:

  • storytelling of one of the following:
    • Goombuckar & Bubberlacom
    • Maroochy story
    • Glasshouse
  • ochre face/body painting
  • learn a traditional song
  • artefacts
  • didgeridoo playing or traditional game/hunting through the centre

Please note:
