Partner Organisations

Goombuckar Creations has partnered with the Queensland Camping & Conference Centre (QCCC) since 2012 and have established a great relationship.

Goombuckar is proud to have built, and now operate, a replica of what a Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi camp site might have looked like, including fire places and houses.  We have a yarning circle, art poles, rock art as well as an art shed in which we run workshops.

Goombuckar staff facilitate workshops at the QCCC Mapleton site each week and include cultural tours, art experiences and bush tucker walks and talks.  We also run night activities around the camp fire, including storytelling and didgeridoo playing, which are a huge hit with lots of campers.

You can book a tour with us there by calling the QCCC office on 5456 3600 or go the website QCCC website.

Hummingbird INK (HBI)

Hummingbird Ink's goal is to capture those wonderful Hummingbird Ink LOGOmoments from a holiday, a birthday or any occasion in someone's life they think is worth capturing and keeping.  We want to keep those memories alive for generations to come.

Small business owners struggle under the high costs of marketing and advertising.  HBI understand this.  They can provide short video clips for businesses to use on their own website or through social media, at a cost they can afford.  HBI is a local business looking after other local businesses in our community

Uniting Care Community logo-UnitiingEmployment Service (UCCES)

UCCES and Goombuckar have been partners since 2012.  Goombuckar hold an exclusive contract to deliver Cultural Awareness Training workshops to UCCES.  At Goombuckar, we are very proud of this partnership.  We believe this is a significant step in reconciliation between not only the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people but also to any Indigenous group that might come in contact with UCCES.

Across the country UCCES have fought hard to acknowledge the Indigenous peoples of Australia, engaging with numerous community groups at many levels.

The purpose of our partnership with UCCES is to:

  • ensure consistent and thorough Cultural Awareness Training for all UCCES employees with a strong focus on the development of effective strategies to engage Indigenous participation in the Disability Employment Services Program;
  • develop effective community links within the Ipswich and Toowoomba Employment Services Areas to assist in the development of a holistic approach to case management of Indigenous participants;
  • increase opportunities for the participation of Indigenous peoples within the Disability Employment Services program via the Direct Registration process;
  • promote the services offered by both agencies within this agreement to shared stakeholders.
